Amco Veba Marine crane families V820NM and V823NM have been certified by DNV* to compliance with Standard DNV-ST-0377 for Shipboard Lifting Appliances.
The certification was awarded following a review, by DNV, of the full drawings sets and design calculations made by the Crane R&D team. The DNV Type approval certificate covers the basis of the design of the V820NM and V823NM with hook or with winch for all versions from 2 to 6 hydraulic extensions, considering the load handling within and outside ships while in harbour, and, within ships while at sea in sheltered water.
“The DNV Type approval certification is a great achievement for the Crane R&D team. I’m very proud of the final result demonstrated by our R&D with FEA using Ansys,” said Francesco Marinelli, R&D Director Cranes. “The design of our cranes complies with the very demanding DNV-ST-0377 Standard, for Shipboard Lifting Appliances confirmed by the DNV Maritime department based in Hamburg, Germany.”

And, it confirms the capacity of our team to succeed on complex and highly demanding tasks. While the process was ongoing we were able to collect orders for 9 units (5 in Europe and 4 in North America) with DNV certification.”
