ExploMar, an innovator in high-performance electric outboard systems, announces two landmark partnerships accelerating sustainable marine mobility in ecologically sensitive regions.
ExploMar announce a strategic partnership with Caverton Marine, a premier provider of marine logistics services in Nigeria. This collaboration marks a significant step toward advancing the electrification of water transportation in Africa.
Under this partnership, Caverton Marine will integrate ExploMar’s cutting-edge electric outboard systems into its OMIBUS passenger ferries, commissioned by the Lagos State government. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, promote cleaner waterways and set a new benchmark for eco-friendly maritime operations in Nigeria.
“This partnership underscores our dedication to sustainable marine transport in Nigeria, with the potential to inspire similar electrification initiatives across Africa,” says Alex Dong, CEO at ExploMar. “We take pride in delivering electric outboard systems designed to enhance passenger experiences while positively impacting the environment.”
Bode Makanjuola, CEO of Caverton Offshore Support Group, also highlights the significance of the initiative: “Partnering with ExploMar represents a major step toward transforming Nigeria’s maritime sector. By integrating electric technology into our passenger ferry services, we are setting new standards for efficiency, sustainability and innovation.”
In another major milestone, ExploMar has entered a distribution agreement with Fix In Marine, a leading marine services provider in the Maldives. This partnership aligns with ExploMar’s strategic vision to create sustainable water mobility in one of the world’s most ecologically significant regions.
As a top tourist destination with over 1,200 islands, the Maldives relies heavily on marine transport, from speedboats and ferries to luxury vessels. However, the widespread use of traditional fuel-powered boats has led to high energy costs and environmental challenges, including marine habitat degradation, climate change and rising sea levels.
Through this collaboration, ExploMar’s high-performance, zero-emission electric outboard systems will be introduced and marketed throughout the Maldives. Leveraging Fix In Marine’s deep expertise and understanding of the local market, this electrification initiative aims to provide greener and more efficient marine transport solutions.
“The Maldives is an ideal region for advancing sustainable water mobility, and every stretch of its waters deserves protection,” says Dong. “Our partnership with Fix In Marine allows ExploMar’s technology to reach a broader audience while contributing to the preservation of this unique marine ecosystem.”
Ahmed Ihusaan, CEO of Fix In Marine, echoes this sentiment: “This partnership represents a key milestone in our mission to revolutionise sea transportation in the Maldives. Our goal is to provide environmentally friendly, efficient, economical and reliable choices that benefit both people and the environment.
“By creating a complete ecosystem for the electrification of marine transport, we are committed to driving sustainable innovation while preserving the natural beauty of the Maldivian environment.”
With an established distribution network spanning over ten countries – including Italy, Spain, Norway and Turkey – ExploMar continues to drive the electrification of water transport worldwide. These strategic partnerships reinforce ExploMar’s mission to drive the global adoption of electric marine mobility, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future on the water.
