First Active Motion-Compensated Feed Delivery System Developed

Uptime International, in collaboration with Eidsvaag AS, a leading provider of aquafeed transport and services, have developed and launched the world’s first active motion-compensated feed delivery system. This groundbreaking technology enables precise, secure delivery of fish feed directly from vessel to offshore fish farms in significantly more challenging weather conditions than previously possible.

The first two active motion-compensated feed delivery systems will be installed on Eidsvaag’s new vessel projects which are currently under construction at Zamakona shipyard in Spain. The vessels have been designed by Kongsberg Maritime AS and will enter operation in 2026, delivering fish feed for Skretting and Cargill.

Uptime has a proud history in developing new technology solutions for the offshore market, starting with the delivery of the first ever walk to work (W2W) system in 1979, by its parent company, ‘Marine Aluminum’. This was followed by the delivery of the world’s first gangway solution for a dedicated SOV vessel for offshore wind in 2013 and the world’s first autonomous gangway solution utilising AI as early as 2019.
