Newbuild personnel transfer vessel will enable reliable ship-to-ship and harbour transfer operations for naval personnel
Finnish shipbuilder Työvene, part of Summa Defence Group, has been awarded a contract by the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) for the design and construction of a SWATH-based Personnel Transfer Vessel to support German Navy operations in the Baltic Sea.
The vessel will be based in Neustadt in Holstein, where it will support the transfer of personnel between the naval harbour and larger naval vessels operating offshore.
Designed in partnership with Ad Hoc Marine Designs, the SWATH-based Personnel Transfer Vessel will accommodate up to 60 personnel and enable safe, reliable and efficient transport, including ship-to-ship transfer operations, in the demanding conditions of the Baltic Sea.
