CLV Altera progresses toward deployment with accommodation block and cable-lay spread installation next in line.
N-Sea Group has marked a key milestone in the build programme for its new Cable Lay Vessel (CLV) Altera, as partner Neptune Marine successfully launched the vessel’s hull.
Braving sub-zero temperatures, the Polish yard completed the float-off operation from a nearby dry dock, sending the newly built hull on the next stage of its journey.
The CLV Altera will make passage to the Netherlands in the coming weeks, where the accommodation block and full cable-lay and repair mission spread will be integrated.
Enersea, in collaboration with Subsea Cable Assets and MacArtney Offshore Wind Solutions, has been contracted to engineer and supply the vessel’s cable-installation deck spread.
Commissioning is targeted for June, aligning with the vessel’s debut assignment: an array cable installation campaign on the 1.1GW Inch Cape offshore wind farm offshore Scotland.
