Field support vessel ELISA, designed for Black Sea operations, to enhance offshore access and uptime
Norwegian shipyard Green Yard Kleven has reached a significant milestone in the construction of OMV Petrom’s “ELISA”, with the successful launch of the vessel at Montex Shipyard, Gdansk, Poland. The launch marks completion of the hull construction phase, with the vessel now set to be towed to Green Yard Kleven in Norway for final outfitting and delivery.
The vessel is based on Marin Teknikk’s MT6067 multi-hull design and is being developed as an advanced field support vessel for energy operations in the Black Sea. OMV Petrom’s “ELISA” will operate on the Romanian continental shelf, providing walk-to-work and accommodation capabilities for up to 90 personnel.
The project highlights close collaboration between Green Yard Kleven, Marin Teknikk and OMV Petrom, with the launch representing a key step toward final completion.
A central feature of the vessel is Marin Teknikk’s Motion Compensating System (MCS), designed to enable safe gangway operations in sea states up to Hs 4.5 m. The fully passive system reduces vessel motions without additional energy consumption, improving operability, extending weather windows and enhancing working conditions offshore.
