Marine Aluminium, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable access solutions, has been selected to supply the helideck for Bibby Marine’s ground-breaking eCSOV (Electric Commissioning Service Operation Vessel), the world’s first full-electric offshore vessel.
The contract includes a complete helideck package, featuring Marine Aluminium’s patented Safedeck system, which integrates active and passive fire suppression to deliver the highest standards of safety.
Gavin Forward, Bibby Marine Director, Fleet New Builds said: “At Bibby Marine, we’re proud to be building the world’s first truly zero-emission electric Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (eCSOV)—an ambitious step toward a cleaner, more sustainable offshore industry. Collaborating with innovative suppliers like Marine Aluminium is key to delivering our revolutionary eCSOV, and we’re delighted to work together to set new standards in safety, sustainability, and performance.”
Aligned with the commitment to sustainable offshore operations and the advancement of zero-emission vessel technology, the helideck will be constructed from aluminium with recycled content produced using renewable energy. This material is not only lightweight and durable but also infinitely recyclable—retaining its strength and quality through repeated use.
The 21m helideck has a landing capacity of up to Sikorsky S-92-sized helicopters. The Marine Aluminium AS helideck will be supplied from Norway as a kit package for final assembly at the Astilleros Armon shipyard in Spain. The helideck will be equipped with a Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (DIFFS), CAP 437 9th ed compliant lighting stairs and accessways and other equipment necessary for its safe operation.
Arild Frøkedal Marine Aluminium Sales Director said “At Marine Aluminium, we’re proud to collaborate with Bibby Marine and Armon Shipyards on this forward-thinking project—setting new standards in the maritime and offshore energy sectors through innovation and sustainability.”
