Acta Marine completed the steel-cutting ceremony for the second next-generation Methanol MDO/HVO powered DP2 Construction Service Operating Vessel at Tersan.

The development of the SX216 vessel design was a collaborative effort between Acta Marine and Ulstein Design & Solutions AS.

These vessels are the first contracted to implement Ulstein’s TWIN X-STERN® design. The innovative design features two sterns and main propeller units at each end, resulting in lower energy consumption, reduced motions, and higher operability and comfort. The design also allows for reduced noise and the potential for significant energy savings during operation.

The project manager for Ulstein, Roy Lindset, states that Ulstein is grateful for the opportunity to work with Acta Marine on this exciting project and looks forward to continuing this successful partnership.
