Siem Orders Two Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels

Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding will construct the two specialised Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels to a design developed in collaboration with Sirius Design & Integration and Siem Industries

Siem Industries has placed an order with China’s Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding for two Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels (OSCVs), strengthening its presence in the offshore subsea sector.

The two vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030 and will be designed to support a broad range of subsea construction and offshore energy operations.

Each vessel will feature two active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea cranes, comprising a 400-tonne crane and a 50-tonne crane. The lifting systems will provide substantial capacity for demanding subsea construction projects and offshore support activities.

Designed by Sirius Design & Integration in close cooperation with Siem Industries and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, the vessels will measure approximately 145 metres in length, with a beam of 27 metres.

The design will focus on operational flexibility and energy efficiency, allowing the vessels to undertake a wide range of activities across the offshore energy sectors.

The order represents a further commitment by Siem Industries to the offshore subsea market, building on its established experience in the ownership and operation of specialised offshore vessels.
