Sirius Shipping Orders Four Evolution 8K Hybrid Tankers

Sirius Shipping is proud to announce the placement of an order for four 7,999 DWT oil/chemical Evolution 8K hybrid tankers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, Dingheng. This strategic investment reflects the company’s commitment to modernizing its fleet with vessels that deliver optimal efficiency and align with future environmental regulations.

The Evolution 8K hybrid tankers are a new update from the success from Saturnus and Mercurius, with lower fuel consumption and low emission technologies. With Hybrid Battery of 420 kWh, for peak shaving, both for Main engine and Aux engines. A Shore Power system of 1000 kW will be installed which enables the vessels to perform Zero emission loading and discharging in port.

The hull, including the patented F-bow, is a hull form optimised for the vessels size & operational profile evaluating also different draughts and sea states.

With Evolution 8K we’re taking another step forward in renewing Sirius fleet –  For our colleagues, customers and the environment. These new vessels, designed by Sirius in collaboration with FKAB Marine Design, will provide the highest levels of sustainability, efficiency and safety. The vessels are also designed for excellent working conditions and comfortable living quarters for our Crew – since this is The Sirius Way!
