mtu Celebrating 25 years of excellence Series 2000 and Series 4000

For 25 years, mtu Series 2000 and Series 4000 engines have been technology leaders in off-highway power. This prominence is indeed well-earned, with 320 million operating hours under their belts around the globe. But not only have the engines proven their worth and been trendsetters from the very beginning, they are also fit for the future. They are continuously developed and thanks to a clever combination of in-engine and peripheral technologies for exhaust gas prevention and purification, they comply with current emission regulations across the world. Integrated into hybrid systems, they are even more efficient and run on sustainable fuels, the engines are soon to be ‘net-zero carbon’.

Series 4000

Series 4000 engines can do it all. With outputs of between 720 and 4,300 kW, depending on the number of cylinders, they have the ability to power luxury yachts as well as haul trucks – and even power generators or trains – dependably, powerfully, efficiently and more cleanly with each passing year. They have proven this in 250 million hours of operation achieved by the 52,000+ engines sold to date. What’s more, the Series 4000 engines were the first in the world to feature common-rail fuel injection.

Series 2000

The Series 2000 is the best-selling mtu series, with over 65,000 engines delivered in the past 25 years. They are used wherever power is needed most: in ships, industrial vehicles or electrical generator sets. The engines can power haul trucks at altitudes of over 5,000 meters, they can turn on their own axis and still keep running, and the yacht version impresses experts with its unique acceleration capabilities. And the Series 2000 is a real stunner in any yacht’s engine room.
