Four Terminal Support Vessels for Smit Lamnalco’s New Contract

In a significant development for Guyana’s rapidly expanding offshore energy sector, Smit Lamnalco has been awarded a substantial multi-year contract by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited for the provision of comprehensive offshore terminal support services in the Stabroek field. The agreement includes the deployment of four newbuild terminal support vessels specifically designed for operations in Guyana’s challenging deepwater environment

The vessels will provide terminal support activities, including operational, maintenance, and logistics support, as well as static towage during tanker lifting operations to the deepwater FPSOs located approximately 110 nautical miles off the coast of Guyana.

Smit Lamnalco has signed shipbuilding contracts with Uzmar in Türkiye with an investment in four state-of-the-art vessels that will be deployed in Guyana. Each vessel, of RAmpage 6000-DE design by naval architect Robert Allan Ltd, will be 60 meters long, with a bollard pull ahead exceeding 130 tons (astern 120 tons bollard pull), and will feature DP2 class dynamic positioning systems. Additionally, the vessels will have FIFI-1 firefighting capabilities and equipment for emergency response situations. The first vessel is expected to be delivered early 2028, with subsequent quarterly deliveries thereafter.
