GE Renewable Energy and ACTA MARINE sign a contract for the support vessel for the commissioning of the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm

GE Renewable Energy and ACTA MARINE today announced the signing of a supply contract for the charter of a support vessel for the commissioning activities of 80 Haliade 150 turbines. 6MW on the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm.

The vessel, ACTA AURIGA, is owned and operated by the Dutch company ACTA MARINE, and will begin operating on behalf of GE Renewable Energy in the second quarter of 2022, when the installation of the wind turbines begins at sea. Departing from the port of Saint -Nazaire, the vessel will participate in the mechanical and electrical finalization operations and the commissioning of the 80 Haliade 150-6MW offshore wind turbines located approximately 12 km from the coast. ACTA AURIGA will also provide safe accommodation and transportation for project staff and have the capacity to transport the necessary goods at sea.

The Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm , located off the coast of Saint-Nazaire (FR), is managed by a consortium between EDF Renouvelables and Enbridge, and will be the first commercial wind farm in France. This is a key step in the development of renewable energies in France and a first step in the offshore wind sector to support France’s objectives in terms of renewable energies. Commissioning is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
