MED MARINE Advances Fleet with Twin Tug Launch

New tugs will strengthen MED MARINE’s towage capabilities and support growing operational demand.

MED MARINE has successfully launched two new RAmparts 2500-W tugs as part of its ongoing fleet development programme, marking another milestone in the company’s investment in modern, high-performance harbour towage assets.

Constructed at Eregli Shipyard in Türkiye, the two twin tugs were launched at the end of April and have now progressed to the final stages of outfitting, testing and commissioning ahead of entering service. Set to join MED MARINE’s fleet, these RAmparts 2500-W tugs are being meticulously prepared to operate in Turkish waters and provide strong support to the fleet.

With their 25-metre hulls and an impressive minimum 80 tonnes of bollard pull, these sister tugs are designed to deliver high performance and reliability under demanding operational conditions. Equipped with a top speed of 12 knots and a state-of-the-art FiFi firefighting system, the vessels aim to enhance the safety of MED MARINE’s fleet across all possible scenarios. In addition to their strong pushing, towing, and mooring capabilities, they are ready to ensure maximum operational efficiency with comfortable accommodation spaces and robust structures built to withstand challenging weather conditions.

MED MARINE prioritises long-term safety and durability in all vessels it builds, implementing this approach with great precision from the first stage of construction to final delivery in the production of high-powered, highly manoeuvrable tugs. By further strengthening MED MARINE’s own fleet, this project reflects the company’s confidence in its engineering expertise and commitment to operational excellence, reliability, and long-term performance.
