Naval architect and design firm MAURIC and ARMON Shipyards announce the launch of Bindy II, the first aluminium catamaran ferry in a new fleet for Morlenn Express. Designed for efficiency, reliability, and passenger comfort, these vessels will serve the Bay of Brest with a capacity of 400 passengers.
On 19 November, representatives from all partner organisations gathered at the ARMON shipyard to celebrate the launch of Bindy II. Present were Franck Le Biannic, Director of Morlenn Express; Louis-Marie Rouxel, Technical Director of the Sogestran Group; and Léo Mouillé, New Construction Project Manager, alongside shipyard representatives Juan Ramon Pernas Balseiro, Ricardo Garcia, Alberto Fernandez Lopez and Sergio García Suárez. Naval architect MAURIC was represented by designer Simon Voisin.

Bindy II features MAURIC’s wave-piercing hull forms, designed to minimise fuel consumption while ensuring excellent stability in challenging sea conditions. The vessel also remains below the regulatory length limit required for French flag compliance.
The upcoming months will focus on equipment start-up and sea trials, with delivery scheduled for January 2026. The remaining five shuttles—Louarn II, Tibidy II, Treberon II, Arun II and Terenez II—will be delivered on a staggered schedule through 2028, marking significant progress in the renewal of Morlenn Express’s fleet.
