PIRIOU Delivers Six 27m “Surfer” Fast Crew Boats to Bourbon

PIRIOU has successfully delivered six new 27-metre “Surfer” fast crew boats—completed one month ahead of schedule. Two vessels have been delivered to BOURBON for operations in West Africa, while four have been handed over to Bourbon Interoil Nigeria Limited.

This new generation of “Surfer” crew boats, led by the Bourbon Mobility teams in collaboration with the MAURIC naval architecture firm and built by PIRIOU in Vietnam, brings enhanced modularity, improved onboard comfort, and increased energy efficiency to offshore support operations.

The six new Surfer-type vessels will enhance the fleet operating in West Africa, offering an optimal balance between modularity, comfort and energy efficiency. With a length of 27 meters and a maximum speed of 30 kts, these Surfers will be able to carry between 50 and 70 passengers, depending on the chosen configuration, and offer two deck spaces for cargo (40m2 at the stern and 20m2 at the front), versatility highly appreciated by customers. These connected vessels will enable real-time data analysis for continuous fuel consumption optimisation or engine operating parameters.

These vessels benefit from excellent maneuverability thanks to their propulsion system. They are equipped with new comfortable passenger seats, with USB plugs on each seat. The navigation bridge has been completely redesigned with improved control stations allowing better visibility for the pilot and the very latest navigation equipment.

The vessels will soon enter service across West Africa, strengthening logistical and personnel-transfer capabilities for Oil & Gas operators in the region.

With more than 130 crew boats constructed for the global Oil & Gas sector, this new series further consolidates PIRIOU’s leadership in the design and construction of high-speed crew boats (FSV/CTV) for offshore operations.
