Propspeed, leading innovator of underwater foul-release coatings, announced today that Matt Forbes, Sales Director, EMEA and Boating Industry’s 40 Under 40 Rusty Morgan, Vice President of Sales and Operations, Americas have undergone training by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers International (NACE). Morgan and Forbes have both completed the NACE Coatings Inspector Program, Level 1 (CIP1). In addition, Forbes has also passed the required seven modules to attain Professional Qualification in Marine Corrosion by the International Institute of Marine Surveying.
“These courses enhance our ability to communicate with marine professionals at a very technical level, as well as being able to be more effective when delivering the Propspeed training program,” said Forbes. “In addition, the focus on corrosion is very relevant as it gives an appreciation for what may be affecting materials in the marine environment and what can be done to mitigate these factors.”
“NACE certification has been instrumental in helping us to understand the level of specification required to provide the accurate application detail necessary to satisfy commercial requirements,” said Morgan. “Our sales team is very active and hands-on, so it’s a core part of our business to make sure that they have the skills and tools needed to address any technical issues and supply detailed information so our customers can have the confidence that the job is done right.”
For over 30 years, the NACE Coating Inspection certifications have set the global standard for inspectors in the protective coatings industry. The organization provides certifications that help promote public safety and protect the environment while reducing the environmental economic impact of corrosion. Organizations recognize and specify the NACE Coating Inspector Program due to its comprehensive, hands-on practical testing methods which validate an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience, and elevate the skills of those in the industry. The program is designed for anyone that wants to have a greater knowledge of protective coatings for any number of assets such as pipelines, storage tanks, key infrastructure and more.
“Advanced technical training and continued professional development is a key component in our ability to better serve our customers around the world,” said Chris Baird, CEO, Propspeed. “Our customers rely on our knowledge of our products and how they can best be used to solve their specific problems. We are proud of the work that Matt and Rusty have done to accomplish these certifications and are positive that they will be an invaluable resource.”
Propspeed’s ultra-slick topcoat is specially formulated to prevent marine growth from bonding to metal surfaces below the waterline. It is proven to increase boat efficiency, protect against corrosion and electrolysis, reduce drag, save fuel and maintenance costs. It features an exceptionally strong chemical and mechanical bond between the metal substrate, the Etching Primer, and the Clear Coat – ensuring that the Propspeed coating actually sticks to running gear, and any other underwater metals, and performs season after season.
Propspeed products include Propspeed for running gear and any underwater metals, Foulfree for transducers and Lightspeed for underwater lighting. For more information on Propspeed or its premium coatings, please visit www.propspeed.com.
