‘Miami’ is powered by Scania DI 13 500hp engines providing her with an economical operational speed of 25kts. Capable of transporting 7 pilots and crew on Grammer shock mitigation seats, in her comfortable air-conditioned cabin, featuring a special arrangement with the 30,000btu air handlers mounted high up in a new roof moulding, allowing the most efficient cooling for Florida’s hot climate.
Fitted with Ocean 3’s proven fendering system that incorporates a larger fender at the shoulder impact area, and a cut away recces at the pilot boarding area that prevents the ships pilot ladder from becoming trapped. Her central helm position offers panoramic vision all round and above, and offers one of the best helming positions, totally focused on providing the operator with the maximum comfort and control of the vessel, especially during the often challenging conditions a pilot vessel operates in.
Another special feature incorporated at the Biscayne Bay Pilots request is a forward watertight door on the port side adjacent the helm, facilitating quick access from the cabin to the boarding point. ‘Miami’ also incorporates Safehaven’s proven transom mounted MOB recovery platform for safety.
