Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) and marine engineering experts the Malin Group have announced they will partner to deliver Ship Zero, an exclusive three-day conference on shipping’s journey to fully zero emissions during the Malin Spotlight series of events which will be hosted during international climate change summit COP26.
Focusing on a range of salient, specialist themes related to shipping and the environment, the Malin Spotlight Series is a unique opportunity for shipping industry delegates to meet in Glasgow during the international summit and discuss a range of issues related to the climate change challenge with a view to identifying and investigating innovative and sustainable solutions.
The focus of the ZESTAs Ship Zero conference is to inform and influence the conversation held by regulators, policymakers and industry experts on the legislative, technological and operational changes that must occur to take shipping to true zero.
Working with Sterling PlanB Energy Solutions, the event will feature a range of specialist speakers alongside live exhibitions and interactive sessions.
Hosted beside Glasgow’s iconic South Rotunda, 320 meters from the official COP summit blue and green zones, Ship Zero will run from 1 to 3 November 2021. Organisers hope up to 200 delegates will attend in person and many more will join virtually so that as many voices as possible are able to drive forward best practice and shape the future of the industry.

In addition to Ship Zero, the Global Maritime Centre will host a series of conferences covering marine renewables, UK maritime industry, the blue economy, sustainable finance and cleaning the seas.
A fully hybrid offering, all Spotlight Series delegates and partner organisations will have access to a bespoke digital platform which will enable the full suite of events to be webcast across the world, and also build a space that will longer term provide opportunities to network and share best practice for the whole maritime sector – and beyond. Covering challenges such as sustainable supply chains, the circular economy and the importance of local content, it will also provide useful learning resources for a range of additional industries and policymakers alike.
