AirHull Technology Enters Asia with New Electric Passenger Vessel

Contract signed at Singapore Maritime Week 2026 for 15m, 29-passenger fully electric vessel combining SeaTech Solutions International design and Pascal AirHull technology

Leading Singapore-based owner and operator Lita Ocean, together with ship design and naval architecture firm SeaTech Solutions International and Norwegian hull technology and electric powertrain integration specialist Pascal Technologies, have signed a contract for the design and construction of a 15m, 29-passenger fully electric ferry, marking the first deployment of Pascal’s AirHull technology in Asia.

The agreement was signed during Singapore Maritime Week 2026, underscoring growing collaboration between Norwegian and Singaporean stakeholders in advancing low-emission maritime solutions. The electric ferry will be owned, built, and operated by Lita Ocean.

The vessel combines SeaTech Solutions International’s vessel design expertise with Pascal’s energy-efficient AirHull technology, which uses a fan to push air beneath the hull, reducing resistance and cutting energy consumption by 30-50%. Running on a fully electric drivetrain, the vessel is designed for service speeds of up to 22 knots. The vessel is purpose-built for Singapore’s coastal waters.

“This contract marks an exciting new chapter for AirHull technology in Asia. Lita Ocean and SeaTech Solutions have shown tremendous commitment and vision in bringing this project to life, and we are proud to support them in delivering a vessel that sets a new standard for sustainable, high-speed maritime transport in the region.” — Carl Fredrik Rehn, CEO, Pascal Technologies
