One of Norway’s most experienced, innovative and commercially savvy shipping leaders is the new Managing Director of Grieg Green.

Pia’s experience, competence, and ability to connect with people will be a tremendous asset for Grieg Green and the whole Grieg Maritime Group,” says Matt Duke, CEO of Grieg Maritime Group and Chair of the Board of Grieg Green.
Towards a circular economy
Pia Meling joins Grieg Green from her position as VP Sales and Marketing at Massterly. She has a long management career in shipping, working for heavyweights like Wilhelmsen and Torvald Klaveness. She is a director of several boards and was the President of WISTA Norway for two years from 2019. Pia is a much sought-after speaker who advocates sustainability, innovation and diversity.
“ESG is high on the ocean industries’ agenda, but the main focus has been on decarbonisation. Green, safe recycling and optimal lifecycle management of ocean assets & equipment are areas where we as an industry need to improve drastically. In a world of resource scarcity, I am excited and grateful for this opportunity to work with the highly competent team in Grieg Green and with our customers to create new business models towards a circular economy. A strong transition
Grieg Green went through a reorganisation in 2021, with Ulrik Engelschiøn taking the role to lead the company in the interim period. He will stay with the company through 2022 to ensure a strong transition.

Pia Meling takes over as Managing Director on the 1st of October. She will also join the Grieg Maritime Group executive management team.
