BOURBON Secures Philippines Offshore Support Deal

Multi-year agreement will see Bourbon Liberty 237 deployed to support offshore operations in the Philippines from August 2026

BOURBON has announced the award of a long-term offshore services agreement with Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. to support offshore operations in the Philippines, marking the company’s first collaboration with Prime Energy and establishing a new operational footprint for the Group in the region.

The contract comprises a firm three-year period with an additional two-year extension option and is scheduled to commence in August 2026. The agreement was secured through a commercial partnership with Bahtera Sri Kandi Pte Ltd (BSKPL).

As part of the contract, BOURBON will deploy the Bourbon Liberty 237, an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel that will be operated and managed by the company. The vessel is currently undergoing a dedicated conversion programme to enable the carriage of methanol for offshore operations, supporting the evolving requirements of offshore energy logistics.

The conversion scope includes tank modifications, installation of dedicated pumping systems and a Nitrogen Inert Gas system, as well as adapted pipelines and protective coatings. The upgrade program includes tank conversion, installation of dedicated pumping systems and Nitrogen Inert gas system, adapted pipelines and protective coatings, following approval by the maritime authorities and ABS classification society. 

The vessel will support Prime Energy’s Shallow Water Platform (SWP), performing condensate tanker lifting, static towing, AHTS operations as well as methanol supply to the SWP. The solution proposed by BOURBON is competitive, sustainable and immediately operational, thus consolidating the group’s position in the Philippines Oil and Gas market.
