Orient Inspirer will support offshore wind construction and O&M operations throughout the Asia-Pacific market
Dong Fang Offshore (DFO) has marked another key construction milestone with the successful launch of the Service Operation Vessel (SOV), Orient Inspirer, which now enters its final pre-delivery phase ahead of joining the company’s growing fleet later this year.
DFO said the project remains on track for delivery in the fourth quarter, highlighting the company’s continued ability to achieve “on-time and on-quality” execution across complex newbuild programmes.
Central to the progress has been DFO’s onsite supervision team, which has worked closely with Vard shipyard throughout the build process to maintain strict oversight across all engineering stages. The company noted that rigorous quality control and coordination efforts have ensured the vessel meets international manufacturing standards.
Preparations for handover are progressing according to schedule, with the launch representing not only a construction milestone but also a demonstration of DFO’s capability to deliver high-specification offshore vessels without delays, even under challenging shipbuilding conditions.
Once delivered, the Orient Inspirer will support DFO’s expanding offshore wind operations across the Asia-Pacific region, where the company continues to strengthen local vessel capacity and technical support services for offshore wind farm construction and operations and maintenance (O&M).
