This move to one of Blyth’s most iconic landmarks, marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion and reinforces its commitment to the local maritime industry
This strategic relocation will mark a significant step in Harlyn’s continued expansion as a leading force in the logistical engineering and transport solutions sector. As a Tier 1 contractor delivering major projects across multiple continents, Harlyn’s trajectory will continue to reflect both operational excellence and a steadfast commitment to long-term regional partnerships.
Later this year, Harlyn will depart from Advance Northumberland’s Blyth Workspace – where the company has enjoyed a productive and collaborative chapter – and move into the Grade II listed Commissioners Office. This building, rich with maritime heritage, will represent far more than a change of address. The relocation will result from a major long term lease agreement between Harlyn and the Port of Blyth, cementing Harlyn’s role as a key stakeholder within the region’s industrial and maritime ecosystem.
Originally constructed in 1913, the building’s grand Roman Doric columns and historic architecture will soon serve as a gateway to cutting-edge engineering, innovation, and project delivery. The interior is currently being reimagined, preserving the building’s heritage while introducing modern functionality, with state-of-the-art office spaces designed to support Harlyn’s growing portfolio of international and high-complexity projects. Once complete, the new headquarters will function as a central hub, enhancing coordination across Harlyn’s global operations.
This investment – a collaboration between Harlyn and the Port of Blyth – will also mark a milestone in the revitalisation of the town’s historic infrastructure. It will bring new life to a long-dormant site, transforming it into a dynamic centre of professional activity and strategic oversight.
With additional operations at South Harbour and a growing presence across key markets, Harlyn’s relocation will underscore its long-term commitment to the Port of Blyth and to the future of the region.
